Marble Run Challenge

Hey guys! How are you? I'm superb! Anyway, today my class and and another class in the syndicate called Waitemata came together and we got into buddies for a challenge. We had to make a marble run out of an IPad box, foam and little sticks. My buddy was a boy from my class called Anuk. Ours was successful. Our time was 5.56s. We only came second but it's better than last. You may be wondering why there are sticks poking out of some of our platforms. Well, they were basically just barriers so the marble didn't fall off. Here's some photos...

Hey guys! How are you? I'm Phantasmagorical! Anyway, I'm doing this blog post about a game called Interland made by Google. It's a game for kids about how to be safe online. I think it is really educational, fun  and enjoyable. In cybersmart we were tasked to make a slideshow about what each part of Interland is about. Here it is...

The NED Show

Hey guys! How are you? I'm Fantastic! Anyway, about two weeks ago The NED Show came to our school. What is The NED Show you ask? NED stands for Never give up, Encourage others, Do your best. It encourages kids to do the best they can in everything. It was free because the school before you pays for you by buying Yoyos. You can by Yoyos and the money you spend buying Yoyos pays the guy who does it and pays for another school to see the show. Here are some pictures...

Syndicate Technology Challenge

Hey guys! How are you? I'm Fantastically Amazing! Anyway, for the past three weeks the syndicate have been doing different challenges as classes. The first one we did was making circuits with a battery, an LED light, tinfoil, paper clips and split pins. The second thing we did was making geoboards out of wood and nails. Eventually when we were finished we added on rubber bands for design. Last of all we did a challenge where we had to make a platform that can hold a marble as far away from a table as we could. My team managed to win the last challenge! Yay! Do you want to see some pictures? I think you do!..

Now the Geoboards...

Last but not least, the platform challenge...

Stop Motion Animation

Hey guys! How are you? I'm Super-Duper! Anyway, today in class we've been making little animations using Stop Motion Animator. We started off on our own but then me and my friend Abby decided to join forces and smoosh our playdough together. I'll show you one of the ones I did on my own and then the one we did together. Stop motion is basically a bunch of pictures played in sequence to make it look like it's moving. Here's the videoes...

Here's the one we did together...

Matariki Art

Hey guys! How are you? I'm Anō Te Pai! Anyway, this week we are doing some Matariki themed art. First I made a Pounamu Taonga out of clay. We got given a piece polymer clay and we had to roll it and make it soft. Then we had to choose a design that our Pounamu would look like. Next we had to design it. Finally we had to bake it in the oven for it to go hard. Here are some pictures...

Here's what equipment we used...

We also made a Manu Tukutuku, a Maori kite. We made a bunch of cardboard strips to go on a kite frame. We made a feather to go on a Korowai (cloak thing.) Do you want to see some pictures? I think you do...
