Auckland Zoo Trip

Hey guys! How are you? I'm Phantasmagorical! Anyway, on Thursday, the 14th of June we went on a trip to Auckland Zoo. We went there because our inquiry focus was on animals and how they live. It was a really awesome opportunity to see so many amazing animals. My favourite area by far was the Australian area. The best animal there, in my opinion, was the snake neck turtle. When we were in the kiwi area our guide (John) told us about something called 'Operation Nest Egg'. He told us some information about our national bird, the kiwi.

Art Festival - Fish Art

Tiritiri Matangi Trip

Hey guys! How are you? I'm Phantasmagorical! Anyway, Thursday the 31st of May we went on a trip to Tiritiri Matangi Island. It was a really awesome experience to see all these endangered animals. Native or endemic. We went there because our inquiry this term is about animals and their habitats. It was a really good opportunity to see endangered animals first hand. Des Hunt - Visit

Fish Art

Hey guys! How are you? I'm Phantasmagorical! Anyway, this term in art we've been making fish out of paper mache. It's been really cool making these with balloons by using glue and sticking the paper to the balloon and let it dry. We also made an underwater background using A3 size paper and colouring it in with pastels. With the pastels we put on multiple colours and smudged them together with our thumbs. We also did some collaging with some paper and stuck it on. I chose to do an Alfonsino for my fish. Here are some pictures...

Flood Proof House

Hey Guys! How Are You? I'm Marvelous! Anyway, in reading we have been making a flood proof house design. I based my one off Filipino Houses. I also added in a floodwall, a drainage system and made it out of lightweight material. Mine would withstand a flood which is the most likely in a coastal area. We used this Book for help on our designs. Here it is!!!
